LEARN WITH STEEMIT: Some curiosities about Italy

Well, we have a strong Italian community here on #steemit and I really feel a little bit scared to talk about it, because they are natives so, they are pro, lol.

But from my point of view, as a foreign person, here it goes some interesting that you could find interesting:

Food

  • Food is like religion!! You don't have to need food and you don't have to throw away food.

  • To really eat Italian food, you have to do it slowly, to enjoy each specific flavor, and they don't like to mix many things together because then each ingredient loses its original flavor.

  • Pasta is a must! They use to eat pasta every day, and pasta has different names according to the region, the shape, and if they have something inside or not.

  • You have to try a Margarita pizza!! Not another one, a Margarita, because it has the right balance between ingredients and among them.

A traditional Margarita.

  • You can buy pizza al taglio, which means a slice, or sit in a restaurant and have a real pizza, which is a big one just for you. The first one has a thinner dough, and the second one is a little bit bigger.

  • Each region has its specific meals and they are unique. You can't find the same thing in another place.

  • They have amazing wine!! The kind of wine changes according to the region.

  • They can eat very very fast.

  • Gelato, wine, and beer are very popular, and tastier! You can't visit Italy without eating ice cream or drinking good wine.

Words and Language

  • In Italy, you have to speak Italian. It's not the same if you say Ciao, Buongiorno, and then explain that you don't speak Italian, then if you just introduce yourself in English. They really appreciate that you try to speak their language.

  • There are different dialects in the country, and some people simply don't speak all o them, so apparently there is one Italian language, and also dialects depending on the region.

  • The most used expressions are Ciao (hi or bye), Buongiorno, Buona sera and Buona Notte (morning, good afternoon and good night), grazie mille (thank you very much), prego (something like "you are welcome", but also have many other applications according to the moment).

People

  • They are very gentle people, and they enjoy life because they always seem to be relaxed... except for the fact that they can get angry for something, and an Italian person angry, it's a little bit scary, lol. They parolacce are the est (insults, they are very funny).

  • They love to do jokes and also love to be in groups, but the personality is very related also with the region. A person from Milano, it's different from a person to Sicilia.

  • They enjoy a lot spending time with family and friends and tend to do big reunions with a lot of people.

  • They feel pretty confident most of the time.

  • Italian people are very good-looking, both men and women.

The place

  • Italy has everything: mountains, the ocean, hot places, cold places it's really a magical and extremely beautiful country.

Some of the hills.

  • If you don't like to walk or for some reason, you can't do it, take a look at the city before, because many of them have differences on the high, and it could b very hard to walk over there.

  • There are a lot of churches and signs from the Catholic religion.

This is one example, but there are plenty like this one.

  • Italy is very well connected by train, so you can easily move inside it, and also to other countries from here.

  • Generally, you have to buy the tickets for the bus in tabaquerias.

  • You can breath history in every corner of the different cities, even in small towns.

In conclusion, Italy can make you fall in love!!!

Dear friend from all this you have said made me fall in love with the country 😆 trust me Italy is a very nice place to be. No wonder we have lots of citizens from Africa who will go to any length just to get Visa, or even migrate illegally.

And italy is naturally a home of wine. Different kinds. Thanks for sharing this with us ❤️
