LUNYR: The Future OF Knowledge Sharing
Blockchain technology is the buzz word of the 21st century technology aficionado. As long as you’re someone that sojourns through cyberspace, you have most likely run into one or more application or website related to this technology. These days, it feels like every time I sit in front of my laptop screen to string words together, I end up raving about some new technology or application that leverages this technology. Today’s rave is brought to you by an incentivised peer to peer review dapp hosted on Ethereum blockchain called Orbiter, where you can find authentic information.
Orbiter like I mentioned earlier is a peer to peer review platform. Unlike counterparts like Everipedia that runs on EOS blockchain and Wikipedia, this one runs on ETH blockchain and has the added advantage of a local token called LUN or Lunyr token that is already tradable on renowned trading platforms like Binance. According to coinmarketcap, the value of the token is $2.47, at the time of writing this post.
The brains behind the operation is a dedicated team that go by the name Lunyr. The common goal of decentralizing the internet and creating a place hosted on Ethereum blockchain where people can earn LUN tokens while doing peer reviews and sharing authentic information is the future. Accessing the platform was made easier by the crreation of desktop applications for virtually every platform.

I run a windows PC and downloaded the version for mine. The installation file is about 320MB and you will need a further 1GB space in your hard disk to allow you to run Orbiter by Lunyr smoothly. After downloading the dapp. Run the the file to install it. Due to the type of dapp you're installing, you might experience some obstruction from you firewall,if you experience something of this nature please don't be dismayed, you can just run it anyway by clicking on "more info" in the firewall notification that pops up then click "run anyway" in the windows firewall notification that pops up. This will initiate the installation process, my laptop is a rusty old soldier so the process took about 10 minutes.
In my opinion, the idea of an encyclopedia that is dependent on peer review should naturally be decentralised and the inclusion of a reward system as incentive for performing this activity is forward thinking by Lunyr. This incentive based form of information sharing will also serve as motivation for individuals to bring qualitative and verifiable information to the platform. There are basically two types of incentives depending on your contribution.
Contributor Points: Lunyr devised a platform where contributors are rewarded for sharing information on the platform. The idea of rewarding contributors and content creators on the platform is one half of the very essence of using Orbiter. This incentive serves to motivate individuals to share relevant information to this encyclopedia that runs on ETH blockchain.
Honour Points: The honour points are given to individuals who perform the very important task of reviewing the information brought by the contributors. This action represents the other pertinent part of using a peer to peer review application. Much like decentralised applications, the information shared by contributors can be scrutinized and verified by others. The reviewers are then rewarded with honour points.
Lunyr rewards both contributors and reviewers by allowing them to convert their points to the LUN token that is already tradable as mentioned earlier. The LUN token can also be used to advertise within Orbiter/Lunyr environment.
In the years to come, Lunyr will have created a large data base of verifiable and up to date information from contributors and reviewers from all parts of the world.
Future innovation in this project will also include mobile platforms for all smart devices and perhaps a website for people outside the blockchain to access the information. This will give them a competitive edge. We're in the computer age, a time in human evolution predominantly characterised by information, with Orbiter by Lunyr, you can participate and earn from the future of sharing knowledge.
