About The Movie

Have you ever seen one of those movies that start of leaving you wondering where the plot is taking you to? For the first 20 minutes or so, I really considered abandoning the movie and continuing with an Anime. This Romantic thriller, directed by Paul Currie, is one of those mystery movies that starts slowly but grows on you as time goes on.

The move is focused on the events surrounding flight dispatcher, Dylan(played by Michiel Huisman), who presumably suffers from a presumed disorder that makes him see patterns. His routine life came to a crossroads when his decision almost caused an aircraft incident. According to the plot, this was all fate as his romantic love affair was in one of those planes and this shaped the basis of the story.

After being suspended from work for the events, he went for a ballet/light show and that was where he became friends with, his future love affair and the centerpiece of the whole movie. The plot of the movie centered on events that occurred 30 years before the current time frame and depicted time to be in something like an infinite loop, waiting for history to repeat itself.

30years ago, two men were found dead at 2:22pm in central station and ever since that day, a sequence of events were found to be in a loop by maim character name. This led him to investigate the occurrences surrounding the events until he stumbled into a letter that was lodged somewhere in his apartment.

His romantic rival, and ex-boyfriend to Sarah (played by Teresa Palmer) were also seeing a similar pattern and reliving the events of 30years ago. The three lives were mysteriously connected by this unexplained force of life that left 3 people dead in central station 30years ago. In this movie, the truth about the past was revealed and a new love story ensued.

Observations:
  • Not enough was shown about the antagonist(Jonas) played by Sam Reid
  • The movie started slowly and was quite boring initially.
  • The storyline wasn't justified and the viewer just has to "take it as it is".
  • why will a grown ass man be more interested in a bunch of patterns instead of his job?
  • The time frame between when he was shot at the train station when he became a pilot is too short. I imagine it takes a couple of years before you're let anywhere near the cockpit of a commercial aircraft.
  • He kicked her out of his place and then chased after her the next day, like a cliché Hollywood romantic film
Opinion

It is a decent movie but not one that you'd be willing to watch more than once. It has a cool blend of mystery, suspense, drama and of course romance infused in it. It's fluttering somewhere between a chick flick and a thriller. I enjoyed it because I am patient but a different man would not be as patient as I was. This is the basis of my rating of the movie.
