Goodbye to the Roaring 20s!
I went to a party on Saturday night.
Let's just say that again...
I went to a party! On Saturday! NIGHT! !
Without my kid. He stayed at my mum's place. The WHOLE NIGHT. My first ever night away from my child! And I got my bed all to myself! First time in 3 years! And I slept terribly xD
The party was for a friend. It was her 30th birthday, and she chose a 1920s theme. It was an amazing evening. The food was delicious and had lots of authentic recipes from the time. A list of cocktails was printed off with recipes and there was a whole table outside as the bar where we could mix our own drinks. I had a go at making a Bees Knees (and failed because I couldn't find the honey, lol). And then there were the costumes! Soooo good! Here's the lovely mother-in-law of my friend and me:

The night was incredible and I can't wait for next weekend, where I actually get to go out again for the whole night and my dad will be babysitting. Another friend is having a birthday party, and I believe there will be board/card games :D

Wow, 3 years without a break - yeah you certainly deserve a night off. I still remember that feeling though, like you've forgotten something, and you just want to rush home and get back into that nice comfy rut. lolol.
I want her to throw a 1920s part 2 party just cos it was so cool, lol!
Do you have little people too? Haha it's so funny, spend so long wanting a night out and then so happy to run home and dive into bed. Such a creature of comfort and habit :D
My little people are teen people now, so they are far less maintenance (which starts once they turn 7yo I've found).
You and your friends could have a 1920 party, then a 1921 party, then a 1922 party .... ;)
I have liiiittle sisters, one is 15 and the other is about to turn 14 cringe. Terrifying lol.

What a lot of fun it looked - we had a 1920's ball here a couple of years ago - that was a fun night :)
