How did I decide to move New Zealand?

in #travel7 years ago

As I mentioned in the previous post, I’m a chemist who has an experiences in various jobs (mostly in research and academy). At some point, I feel like my life has gotten into a rut. So, I’ve decided to make a fresh start with a new place.

I’ve tried to find out my options about where should I move next? I’ve studied in the USA and I’ve lived there for a while so it wasn’t going to be my first attempt to live in abroad. But, this time I need to move somewhere further. I always have an interest for Australia so it will be my first choice. Now, I need find the right visa for me. When you go the, Australian Government Department of Home Affairs web site https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/visa-1/462- , you will find the “Visa Finder” option. Through this option, you can find which type of visas you are eligible for. I’ve decided to apply ‘Working Holiday Visa’. I’ve prepared all needed documents and I was ready to submit my application. Unfortunately, this visa program has a limit of 100 visas per year and the quota was full. I was too late to apply. So, I need to find a new destination then I said why not New Zealand. I searched for the information for ‘New Zealand Working Holiday Visa’ and I came up with the immigration visa web-site https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas/apply-for-a-visa/about-visa/turkey-working-holiday-visa . I’ve filled out the application forms and I’ve received an automatic e-mail informed me about that my application has been received by the system. Later, I’ve sent the required documents to the New Zealand Visa Application Center in Dubai. Approximately in 20 days my visa was approved and I received my passport on the next week.
Getting Ready For New Zealand
I’ve received my passport with my working visa in it and now I need my flight ticket. I’ve booked my flight through Turkish Airlines on October 26. Starting with Ankara-Istanbul-Hong Kong-Auckland, it was going to be a long journey. The flight between Ankara and Istanbul took around an hour so it may sound it doesn’t count. From Istanbul to Hong Kong first real non stop flight took place and duration was 10h20m.
I’m in Hong Kong and everywhere was surrounded with pandas.
