On my last day of vacation

I am on vacation this week in Rehoboth Beach Delaware. In the mornings I walk to this little coffee shop where I simply relax and put together my Steemit post for the day.

Earlier this week I created some character sketches of people I'd seen walking on the boardwalk. I had fun making them and thought I would do one more for today.

CHARACTER SKETCH

Tom has moved up the ladder to become vice principal of Avalon High School. He is known as a hard-ass and was promoted because of his ability to maintain classroom discipline.

Prior to his promotion Tom taught economics, boasted to his students how he started out poor but always believed in himself. He said he worked hard, managed and invested his money and rolled it to millions.

None of Tom’s students believed him or wanted to be like him. They laughed at his loyalty to the school, that he dressed in school colors, and mostly that he took himself far far too seriously.

This week Tom is on vacation and taking long morning walks. As his feet march beneath him he is thinking of one smart ass kid who seemed to delight in challenging his authority, a kid whose final report was nothing but fantasy nonsense about crypto-currency.
