ONE LAST MEAL FROM THE GARDEN
A SURPRISE IN THE GARDEN
I walked through the garden yesterday thinking it was done for the season only to be surprised it was still willing to give, there among the drying vines were fistfuls of beans.
Using the bottom of my t-shirt as a basket I was able to pick a rather large mess of beans that I took to the house and began to clean up for cooking. As I walked towards the house I also noticed one last patch of carrots, so once the beans were inside I returned to the garden.
I dug up this nice bunch of carrots, used the garden hose to rinse them off then carried them in to be trimmed up and cleaned.
I ate them for dinner along with some chicken. The best part of the meal was that it involved no use of processed food, everything was free of chemicals and such. It was also great tasting and made me happy while eating it.
It does feel & taste different, harvesting your own.
Yummy.
Vegetables are good for the health of our friends
Yes they are.
Nice! It's always great to get those last remaining ones then immediately put them to use. Also, it's awesome that it was a combination of string beans and carrots that you got from the garden. Already a great combination on the plate!
They were great, used the leftovers in a stir-fry.
I just had a stir fry with french beans and carrots the other day! I was supposed to include that in my previous comment.
