Mongoose were brought to Hawaii to fix the rat problem. They messed up because mongoose hunt during the day when the rats are hiding. Now we have just as many mongoose as we do rats.
Wow it's interesting that @mauigold808 shared that story they were brought here in Jamaica as well for the same purpose but unfortunately they got out of control, people with chicken farms have to be careful of them, they can be seen shooting across the roads during the day.
