I'm Trying to avoid YouTube and use Rumble as an alternative: Too bad it sucks

in #video4 years ago

Rumble is just one of many "alternatives" to YouTube out there and honestly, I have tried to use it as much as possible to get snippets of information or find things on certain topics that I am interested in but unfortunately, it just isn't very good at all.

At first I was thinking that this might be a case of the fact that it was only just launched but as it turns out the site has been around since 2013 (sigh.)

The fact that if I want to see a movie trailer or watch some sort of sports highlights and it isn't there at all or the results are so limited that I don't have much use for it is frustrating to say the least.

Like a lot of people out there, I would like to get away from Google as much as possible but sometimes it appears as though they really have us locked in as far as YouTube is concerned. There are a lot of people that could change this, such as JP Sears (who I love) but all the clips of him on Rumble are not even his own but rather people that are reposting it from another source. According to JP's own website he does have a channel there, but there are zero videos and therefore there are very few people subscribing to it which in turn, will likely not encourage him to feel terribly inclined to continue on the platform.

I don't think 108 subscribers is going to encourage a great deal of enthusiasm on JP's part seeing as how he enjoys millions of followers over on YouTube.

The top performers on Rumble are Dan Bongino and Dinesh D'Souza but man, I don't want politics to be all that I have access to over there. I want some other form of entertainment since I feel as though most people spend entirely too much time ruminating over politics.

I also enjoy looking at stuff about sports but the top sports channels about NFL has a mere 12,000 subscribers and they don't even get around to posting until after what they are talking about isn't even relevant anymore.

So unless you are looking for conservative news with a conservative echo chamber of responses the front page is a who's who of who cares. This is a shame and I wish that they could improve but if big time influencers like JP Sears can't make money over there, they aren't going to feel compelled to put any effort into it.

For now I guess it is back to BitChute for me and if anyone out there has alternative sources for video (not just politics) please let me know. I had high hopes for Rumble, but my experience thus far has been that it is a real turd.

Sort:

I set up a dtube account to post videos here rather than use yt. I don't much like it.

I watch a lot of stuff on bitchute, gabtv and odysee. Different kinds of stuff on each.
