Art - Portrait study painting - With Steps!
Last week I spend a few hours painting up a portrait..
I have been busy working on a job where it requires me to paint and design spaceships.. which sure is cool.. :P .. as i normally just get hired to do fantasy-ish stuff!
But I felt the need to draw a human thing for once.. after hours and hours of metal and lazers! .
Here's a study!
It includes a few steps to show how I came to the end result! :D
Enjoy!
I wanted to paint so I didnt really use a line drawing to start.. just some shapes in various tones/values ;)
I refined and slowly are created more depth in the values.. going darker in some places
More refining,, still slowly building up the values, it is key for me to not get too extreme in the beginning using 100% black or white :D
More refining and rendering.. Im almost to the point where i call it finished.. i just need to zoom in and refine some more and take another look at the overall shape and feel of the face.
Here the image is done,, a little more tweaking to eventually end up with this:
Thank yoU!
I hope you like it!
Cheers

Wonderful. And when working monochromatic I always feel it has such a sculptural quality. I love the human figure so I'm all in on this one. I mean spaceships are cool to, but I love this.
haha you have not yet seen the ships! ;DDD

Great Digi Art Sir.
It's beautiful. I definitely like works done in monochrome.
OMG !!! how great you are and again you reaffirm the Mr. gift you have, your work is so real that it looks like a photograph edited with some photo editor.
