Water Birds taking off - 2 original photos
Taking off from a water surface is not that easy, especially for bigger water birds.
This Great Cormorant has to "run" over the water for quiet a bit before it can lift off:
For a duck its a little easier. Also, the ducks here have learned to use the step in the river and the water flow to gain some extra speed:

Starke Fotos! Den Kormoran hab ich noch nie im Wasser gesehen, nur machmal rumfliegen.
Danke! Der hängt meistens an der Aa rum, oder im Aawiesen Park im Teich.
Ach so, da gibt es wohl dickere Fische. :-)
