THE LUMPF CHRONICLES (9)

Herr Lumpf went to the Doctor for his flu shot.
Going to the doctor Herr Lumpf hated a lot.
But winter was approaching, the flu season!
So Herr Lumpf thought it a good reason.
A good enough reason to venture without,
A good enough reason to get a free flu shot shout.
Frau Lumpf had said, “Vinter is ahead,”
“If you get influenza, you could be dead!”
“Flu gets verse and verse every year.”
“So you must get a flu shot, do you hear?”

And so, off went Herr Lumpf to the surgery room,
Reasonably happy, not too much gloom!
After sitting in the waiting room, for what seemed forever!
The invitation to go within, feeling light as a feather.
A few minutes later, looking quite sick!
He exclaimed to Frau Lumpf, “the nurse called me a prick!”
“I vas valking out, und she exclaimed, just a small prick!”
“She vos sticking her needle into a young chick.”
“I, Herr Lumpf, deserve better than that!”
“No respect, to call me a prick, in front of that brat!”

Frau Lumpf could see Herr Lumpf had the wrong end of the stick.
“Do not be foolish und make yourself sick,”
“Zat nurse vos calming zat younk girl for ze needle,”
“Not to cause you affront, make you vhine and vheedle.”
“Vot did she say about your pressure of blood?”
“It must haf been high vith you in such a mood?”
“She didn’t even bother to check!”
So said Herr Lumpf, feeling a wreck.
“Vot I now need is a Kaffee und Strudel.”
“Zat vill calm my kit und Kaboodle!”
