BEASTLY TALES

THE E.M.P.

E.M.P. is an Acronym for Electro Magnetic Pulse.
One could be up there, above the U.S.A.,
On almost any old day.
It could be from a Solar Flare,
You’d certainly wish it wasn’t there.
Or, much less likely from a nuclear explosion.
That would certainly contribute much erosion.
The nuclear explosion would be way up in the sky
Probably hundreds of miles, so don’t sigh.
But such could replicate a Solar Flare,
Again, you would wish it not to be there.
Which could potentially eliminate the U.S Power Grid,
To fix it would cost many a quid!
Plus damage all equipment hi-tech.
And it’s not just a matter of saying “Oh, heck!”
Loss of electricity power means no food, fuel or water.
In fact “no” to most everything one oughta,
Be able to count on, in daily life,
For family and self, and even the wife.

In 1889, back in horse and buggy days.
An event such as this did, everyone, amaze.
A Solar Flare melted those electricity lines they had.
It fused telegraph keys to their pad.
And caused a whole raft of damage.
In it’s comparatively brief rampage.
But, of course, back then, electricity wasn’t such a big deal.
So it was significantly less dramatic what they did feel.
Than would be the case in the modern times of today.
Where everything hi-tech holds the sway.
Well, we trust this story may have cheered you up.
We can now make a toast in our toasting cup.
Here’s to a safe, quiet future,
With no solar flares or Nuke’s to nurture!

Wow, we would all be in a lot of trouble. Excellent poem, very well written.

Thank you for your nice comment.

It's time to start prepping, and storing everything,
off the grid, let it be said, be self sufficient instead.
Invest in a generator, with no power it's a savior,
grow your own, stay at home and not alone.
Store cans, toilet paper and rice,
gather supplies and beware of the mice,
plenty will only suffice.

Thank you for your poetic comment.

This is an interesting social poem
