BEASTLY TALES
RAKING THE ASHES
Old Reggie Rake went from rampant to stagnant,
He rapidly learned just what being a drag meant.
Ladies of his circle, all did eschew,
His company, when finally they knew.
“Old Reggie, he’s beyond his use-by date.”
“Not up to challenges, for him it’s too late!”
Reggie had his eye on Gwendolyn Plum,
She blossomed and bloomed, while he was so dumb.
“Stricken by her radiant aura of beauty,”
“If I wasn’t so old, she’d think me a cutie!”
“But, now that I am so old and decrepit,”
“She views me as luke-warm, tepid.”
Gwendolyn Plum, of that smart social set,
Her previous husband, she’d sent to the vet.
“He was too demanding, by far,”
“Always wanting to commandeer the car!”
“He, to an assignation, he’d fled,”
“But I steered him to a veterinarian instead.”
“Now, what would change his objective, after his luck,”
“Of course, a clinical bob, nip and tuck!”
So rather than a relationship bond, close welded.
He had, without anaesthesia, been savagely gelded!
