CONVOLUTED

Elmer Crump was feeling anguish and sorrow,
Over the prospects for the morrow.
Yesterday was the tomorrow, of the day before.
Being concerned about the next day, he did abhor.
But problems, of the kind, hard to surmount,
Did steadily accumulate to quite a high count.
“Sufficient, each day, for it’s own hardship,”
This truism he was always ready to quip.

So, this young fellow called Crump,
Drove a rough road, with rattle and bump.
He lost his way on the very same day,
But, being of stout disposition would never say nay,
Knowing, in the end, he’d be right.
He, then, returned the previous night!

I saw a man upon a stair,
I looked again, he wasn’t there,
He wasn’t there again today,
I surely wish he’d stay away.
And should he not be there again tomorrow.
I surely will feel no shred of sorrow.

Elmer Crump though it all the rage,
Reading a book backwards, page by page.
To know the conclusion before you begin,
Is an improvement, head in a spin.
Following the plot from conclusion to start.
Is a most stimulating challenging art!
Such a process is upside-down,
Or back-to-front, smile not frown.
Compensation from opposing forces.
