BEASTLY TALES
ARABIAN NIGHTS
“Florence of Arabia” was her stage name,
Dancing with few clothes was her game.
Yes, she had no real misgiving,
About dancing, semi-clad, for a living.
She danced around the place,
With a veil about her face,
Yesterday her sister Sonia,
Wore her clothes and caught pneumonia.
When she danced her face was masked but little more.
Dressing was such a boring chore!
Sometimes she performed at burlesque too.
Parody, including strip tease, decidedly blue.
She also excited many a man,
Cavorting on stage, doing the Can Can!
That naughty French high-kicking dance,
Where delectable ladies high step and prance.
And in Latin lands they’d shout CARAMBA!
As she twirled in a quickstep Samba!
One fine day Florence met the man of her dreams,
He sat in the audience giving loud screams.
So enamoured of her, he proposed from his seat.
He wouldn’t take NO for an answer, no defeat!
Florence shouted back, above the noise,
“I will, you are the most darling of all the boys!”
Florence and Freddie (for that was his name).
Were wed shortly thereafter, Freddie was tame!
Soon they had children, all of them girls.
Eventually on stage boards, doing pirouette twirls.
Some boys in the audience gasped with delight,
History repeated itself, that very night!
I think you can write poetry about pretty much anything and make it sound hilarious.😁
