TEA FOR TWO

Marvin Tosser was found to have two wives,
He had met each in very low dives.
“That’s bigamy” said a friend when told.
Marvin saw his friend though thought this to be bold!
“Big o’you?” Marvin retorted,
“No, it’s big o’ me!” The one who supported,
“Two wives and a brood of kids,”
“Keeps me busy, wouldn’t be dead for quids!”

As his name implied, Marvin was a tosser,
He tried to be family head, his wife to boss her,
But, in fact, it was the other way around,
Marvin was subservient, didn’t stand his ground.
Wife number one was Emily Strumpet,
Their relationship nurtured, when she was his crumpet.
They’d set up house in the village of Putney.
Being fecund, so many children, bordering on gluttony.
Wife number two was Alice Amoral,
After meeting her, they joined a club Chorale,
They sang at anniversaries and jubilees,
“Encore, shouted guests, much more please!”

The biggest problem Marvin had was the juggling of time.
His fob watch let out many a loud chime,
When it was time to visit the other,
Much more so, as each became a mother.
He had acquired two houses in adjacent streets,
A mere dash away for adulturing cheats.
His job paid quite well, sufficient income.
Even for Marvin, who was really quite dumb.

And so he continued until Emily found out about Alice,
Alice found out about Emily, no absence of malice.
Rather than exchange stories about,
They both, with tomahawks, chased after the lout!
