Shades of Black

What a long weekend!!!

It's been hectic busy over here and feels like we haven't stopped getting stuff since Saturday.

It all started on Saturday when Hubby emptied the ute to pick up all the furniture for bub. Then on Sunday, since the ute was empty and it was the end of financial year = sales time, we should go have a look at the specials.

All I wanted to do was look at paint colours for bub's room on Sunday but somehow, after hours and hours of discussion and looking and comparing and research we settled on a new Hisense TV to replace our 13 year old Sony Bravia.

Yup. Where did that come from?!

To my defense I only agreed on the condition we get to go home with the TV that day and play a round of Diablo but after hours of discussion we missed warehouse hours and can't pick up the TV until tomorrow.

So instead of working on bub's room this is us today.

The idea was to paint the TV wall a light grey, but around midnight last night we finally decided we wanted a dark colour.

By this morning that dark colour was black.

But which black is black enough?

We started off with 3 colours this morning, then went out this arvo after thinking maybe there's a blacker black, and got that mixed up at Bunnings.

An hour later it's up on the wall and the entertainment wall is getting cleared.

I only have myself to blame. I've been catching up on years of The Block and have been watching season after season with Hubby, so now he's got the reno bug. Which is great and not so great cos all I wanna do is nap and he's approaching this like a 24 hour challenge.

And Bub's room is now a storage room 😭😭

This is me right now, taking a breather while he's gone to Bunnings for the 5th time today to pick up paint.

The flood rights are out and Night Sky has won the battle of the blacks with Black Sea a close second.

Which black do you like best?

Black Sky is the 2nd on from the left and Night Sky is the one over at the far right.

Meanwhile, in bub's room, these are the current blue contenders. I see myself going there and looking at the paint book for a darker blue though.

Feng shui suggests the room colour be blue which is fine by me especially since I've settled on a constellation/star theme. And alhough most people would say blue is for boys, blue and pink goes well together so for me blue works.

That room is another beast all together. It makes this room seem so easy with it's basic black feature wall.

The good news is we should have our new TV tomorrow and if all goes well tonight we should be ready to hang that TV up the newly painted wall straight away.
