Day two of orgonite week ended up not being about orgonite. But that's normal for me.

I'm pretty precious about my orgonites. It's the only art form I do that I actually plan the rest are all exercises in letting go of control and seeing where creativity and spirit will lead me.

When I got outside yesterday and heard all the commotion from both sides of me I knew it was not the day for orgonites. Weather, peace and privacy are my 3 main requirements before I pour. Without the trifecta I can't work properly so I went with my recent obsession.

Painting furniture

In my quest to finish setting up my outdoor lounge area I realised I needed more furniture to complete the relaxed boho feel I wanted. Not wanting to spend more money than I needed to I decided to think outside the box and look around me.

That's when I realises I had the furniture I needed but I need to repurpose it and fix it up a bit.

This is what I'm repurposing.

Under all the crap on top of it is our old entertainment unit. That unit fits perfectly along one side of the lounge area. The problem is, for it to be ok outside I need to paint it and because I want it boho/hippie like that meant I have to put extra effort in to give it that look.

Before I go to town on it I decided to see if I can even do it to begin with. I'm not a painter or much of a drawer and have never taken on anything like this before so I practiced on this.

I dont know what it is but I bought it at Salvos for $10

I've had this piece of furniture for a while and painted it in my fave colours. It's where my work crystals sit outside so they are charged 24/7. They have been exposed to all the significant planetary alignments this year thanks to this piece of furniture.

Being what it is ~ old, cheap and for my crystals, I figured why not paint this and see if I can actually follow through my vision.

So this is was me yesterday..

I doodled the mandala late last night and decided to use that as my rough guide. Once the flower part was done I had to improvise.

I finished the top and moved on to one side. Feeling ambitious I thought I'd try and paint Frida ~ but she turned out to be a Frida x Leia (I don't mind!).

Once I was out of steam I decided it's time to take a video so I can show y'all my work.

That's when the kookaburra came over.

Kookaburras!!

I love love love kookaburras. They're the only beings on this planet that can wake me up at some messed up hour and still get a smile from me.

They are the only birds up here that havent visited me up close. That was until yesterday.

I had another video where I was talking and freaking out over the kookaburra but that video recorded sideways and I can't figure out how to rotate it.

This video is my second one, no commentary but it does show the kookaburra fly off to a tree to hang with his mates.

I also added a clip I took this morning of my painting to the video so you guys can see where I'm up to with it.

Thoughts..

I think it turned out ok! It's not perfect, but that's what I was after. I didn't want perfect circles or lines (despite my OCD's protests) I wanted to see if I could do this all on the fly, all free hand like.

This is also far from finished. The white is like my pencil marks, it will still need to be coloured in. I still need to add the fine details like finers lines, dots etc.

Hubby says it's fine the way it is ~ I'm still on the fence.
