Today has been a flat out day.

With tomorrow being Anzac Day (public holiday) I've been busy cleaning the house, cleaning the barbecue and doing the laundry to try and set us up for a nice relaxing day. Seeing that we worked our arses off over Easter I really wanted tomorrow to be a little treat, a day we can enjoy.

Which means this is going to be a super quick BTC Plant Update cos I still have a potato salad to make!

The bag gardens

A week ago I planted my bargain plants (snapped up at Bunnings Katoomba) in the soil bags. I did this planting method last year and it worked awesome so I figured while I'm waiting for the grow house to be ready I'd do it again.

And by the looks of things it still works a treat. Well for bag 1 anyway 👇. This one has beans, carrots, rocket, parsley & spinach ~ I reckon it looks like its grown in a week.

Bag 2 👇 is doing aiight, although the onions still look dead~ish, the oregano too actually. The great thing about this bag is the garlic seeds that I planted. They have ready kicked off in the last few days ~ not that you can see them here.

The seedlings

Not gonna lie. I had my fingers crossed for these babies all week. I tried planting them before and I failed miserably so you can imagine how damn happy I was when one by one I started seeing some action.

I've got garlic growing in the big square pot. Rocket and zucchini have popped up in the long black containers, as well as gazanias (flowers). It also looks like the echinaceas and the dahlias are trying to sprout 🤞🤞

I'm going to need my pollinator attractors thriving for my garden to kick off. Even though the French marigolds are booming, who knows how long they'll last for. From memory they died off around June last year and didn't come back again until Dec/Jan.

Last but not the least

The bargain coriander looking pretty good. Alive is pretty good. It's not booming but it's not dead either so that's a defo win in my books.

And then here's one of my creepers.

My chamomile ❤🥰❤

I'm so excited about this one. I've always wanted chamomile since it's such a versatile plant. It's a great companion plant, can be used for tea, the flowers are edible, it's a pollinator magnet ~ so much to love about this plant. The vision I have for this baby is to have it as ground cover in the grow house so we'll never have to weed or mow in there.

I'm so relieved it's thriving at the moment 👩‍🌾

I have so many more plants to show you guys like the lavender, the new strawberry, the other oregano and then there's my succulent babies but that will all have to be for another post.

I hear the potatoes calling me name 😁
