When communities change your mind..

I recently had a discussion with a Dragon.. or Dolphin or Orca.. I don't know what to call this 'status'

Well this Dragon recently convinced me that my delegation day's should be coming to an end.

I started delegating about 7 months ago because my crypto-blogging day's were coming to a standstill. I couldn't hang around any longer seeing the Stinc permeate with no air-freshener to help. Luckily someone somewhere had to do something..

This portal has now opened up new possibilities. Whether those possibilities will transform into more success remains to
be seen.. but I think I just wanted something, ANYTHING to bring my interest back. Reflecting over the past couple of
years and seeing so many people leave because of whale abuse is saddening. Some of those giving Dolphins were the
reason I was getting rewarded and eventually they just had enough and left. How many minnows and even dolphins
were driven away by certain psychopathic whales who would stop at nothing driving the user base AWAY from their own
cash cow. You really can see how even virtual wealth can create dictators and even insanity.

I never name names because let's face it, I would be a marked Steemian and driven off this platform myself. Not much an be done when you have a bot trailing your every upvote, every comment, every reply with a downvote. It's abusive, but it's also STEEM. The good thing is that I haven't made too many enemies. I don't troll and I don't downvote often (unless it's outright false propaganda). There is a problem that remains. Convincing those Steemians to come back will be difficult, or even impossible. What a waste it was to drive off users who could have brought a lot of power and money into the ecosystem. They won't even look at or TOUCH STEEM (which is now sitting at 0.23 cents).

Who would return after such bitter encounters?

I want to tell them there is a place for them. A place where respect and control can be dealt with responsibly. Steemit is the wild-west, but tribes in reality can kick trolls and plagiarists. There's always someone in the bunch to spoil a good time. It's a good thing some can get kicked (assuming the kicking is not down out of spite or abuse).

Many tribes are willing to burn their own token and not issue new ones to increase value. At least for me and for now I can blog again. I can feel rewarded for my interest, my loyalty, my creativity in a large lake of fresh water. The stinc of the Ocean is still there, but hopefully these small and scattered oasis's can thrive. These lakes of water are teaming with life and they have plenty of vacancy for the old to come back and feel renewed again.

Post edit: I know that Dragon is shy.. but I'll just say she delegated to me and gave me some STEEM to give me the push to un-delegate and start really participating again. What would have happened if whales did that? Just a thought.
