Infusing Steemit into My Life

My name is Shine Matias, 31, and please allow me to introduce myself to the steemit community! I look forward to share my 2-cents and learnings to this community and much more excited to interact with the community as well. Now here’s my story, brace yourselves! Hehehe

I am the only child of a single parent mom. I grew up mostly with the homes of family friends especially during summer. My mom is the workaholic type and I couldn’t blame her since she had to ensure I graduated college. Truth be said, I graduated with a degree of BS Industrial Engineering in a state university in Manila. Not with flying colors though but I was a scholar all throughout high school till college.

It was really hard growing up alone since basically my mom was always at work. I had to learn to adjust with the set-up and just embrace our current situation. There were times that she couldn’t even get my report card at school due to her workload even attend PTA meetings. But in spite all this, I still grew up with good manners and faith in GOD and most especially without hatred for my dad. Thanks to my mom!

As I grew up to be a young adult, I had my first job right before I graduated college. I learned to be independent and mastered being alone. Yes, I have friends but I consider myself an introvert. I don’t mingle a lot with the crowd and I just a few true friends that I keep. But still I try to interact as much as possible of course or when the need arises hehehe No man is island as they say! I usually express my feelings better thru writing thus the reason why I also joined steemit so I can share my poems and different outlooks in life.

Now that im a part of the working class, I experience stress and work-related problems as well. I learned to loosen up a bit and create more friends thru travelling. My usual go-to when I feel down are my friends, hiking and most of the time going to places especially where there is sand, sun and sea. And I plan to explore more places in the future.

At this age, I have also considered settling down but only time will tell when. Im still helping and returning the favor to my mom, my greatest love. I have so much to explore and learn still and I believe that I can achieve that with the help of fellow steemians too!
