Necessary machinery for basalt extraction
Basalt extraction is a time-consuming and labour-intensive matter. Basalt is a solid and durable high-silicon material. Before the start of its extraction, the cost of investments and the expenditure is calculated. It consists of a large number of machinery items: crushing facilities, loaders, quarry lorries and excavators. The equipment for the extraction of dense and hard rocks should be prepared.
Crushing facilities
Jaw breakers and rotary crushers are used for basalt extraction. A jaw breaker easily deals with materials of 320 Mpa durability and saves up to 30% of work input. It doesn’t produce any noise and dust due to its special construction and small size. Rotary crushers are categorized as an impactor and they perforate with mechanical tension up to 350 Mpa ( for basalt, it varies from 110 to 500 Mpa). These tools consume less energy but their details get aged very soon and need to be changed rather often.
Loaders
Quarry works require reliable equipment with low energy and fuel use. Front loaders are the best as they upload, unload and remove fills. Most of the models have a carrying capacity of 5000 kg.
Quarry lorries
The best-chosen type of quarry lorry allows reducing the cost of the quarry development. Heavy quarry lorries are more cost efficient — our experience of working in quarries with the forecasted scope of work has proved that. The cost of 1 ore ton transportation is reduced depending on the carrying capacity of the equipment. The carrying capacity of the lorry must be more than 250 tons.
Excavators
Excavators are divided into two types: dragline and hydraulic. Hydraulic excavators are more often used for opencast mining. They have an advantage over dragline excavators due to the mobility of the working component and power reverse. The both kinds of excavators have the equal power but hydraulic ones are more productive.
