Unsolicited Advice For New Users

in #steemit9 years ago (edited)

Hello My Dearest Steemian Friends (that seems to be the new catchphrase)....I read a lot on here and talk to quite a few newer users who ask me for some advice on some do's and don'ts. Having jumped in the deep waters here without looking I've realized mistakes I've made and probably continue to and also some good techniques that have worked out well.

Starting off saying everyone is your friend like I did is stale but if it works for you, God Bless. The first part of your post is crucial and most people's attention spans are very short so while some have success on very long posts others can find a niche in a shorter post. That being said, having no text at all unless a complete parody usually backfires.

Post as you see fit but posting 3, 4,5 times a day tends to put you in a bit of a spammy situation and the worst thing is to insult your friends and followers by complaining they don't upvote you 9 times a day. Nobody owes anyone on here anything and we all started roughly out the same with some exceptions of course and nobody said everything is fair so probably ranting that your post didn't make 300 bucks will not make you 3 bucks. I've never made Trending and doubt I ever will and am just fine with that, just because you aren't on some list does not mean you can not pursue your goals on here :)

A crucial element to many Steemians posts is the use of MEME MAGIC! We are visual creatures and so memes, pictures, vlogs and gifs help people get to know your style or sense of humor or what you look like and so on..... Top Kek!
My last gem is to not do the upvote begging or follow for follow in comments. People who have been on for a few months tend to do the exact opposite and some will flag you for it . Anyhow, there are some blunt tips from someone who has had some great successes and failures on this platform but all in all am quite happy with my work on here. I wish you all success and to keep motivated even when there are periods of change or chaos <3

Good tips! Top kek tips! Be unique, try to find a niche. Dont aim to please everyone. You cant be a jellyfish who tries to please both the hysterical and confused sjw AND someone from kekistan. Patience. Some top kek with 200k wallet will eventually find you IF you produce something that resembles quality.

Yeah my blog isn't a safe space or for SJW's, SteemSpeak is for the Top Keks and Pepe's becoming Kek's.

Taking notes. Thank you 😉

thank you! gotta flip that script lil bit

What sets you apart is your honesty, you admit to your failures, which makes you an success to me. :) ...Thank you upvoted of course!

thank you very much, I have learned more from failures to be honest
