What Are True Friendships?

in #life4 years ago

Friendship is a relationship of equal, reciprocated love between individuals. It's a more powerful form of emotional bond than a romantic relationship and is studied extensively in many academic fields including communication, psychology, sociology, law, and anthropology. It can also be described as the conscious recognition of a group or individual's experience of interdependence or a sense of shared identity. Friendship exists among people who share a common interest, like lovers, friends, sports lovers, career-oriented students, religious leaders, or individuals who live near each other.

People have different definitions of friendship, but they all agree on one thing: true friendship is always mutual. A true friend looks out for the friend as well as for the friend. A true friend will support the friend when the friend needs support and help, but will not give unconditional support. True friendship is not dependent on anything; it just is.

Many people have bad friends. Some of them are not very good at telling the truth, while others are simply afraid to tell the truth about themselves. Friends who are not very good at telling the truth are not really very close friends anyway. While most of your closest friends probably aren't bad friends, there are some qualities you should generally look for in your best friends.

Friendship takes time to build and requires consistency. True friends are always willing to spend time with you, maybe in the middle of the night when everyone else is asleep. True friends are great listeners, are interesting people, and are genuinely concerned about your happiness. They are great companions outside of work, because they are different from the other friends of your parents have. True friends have different types of personalities, but at least they always respect your individuality.

Friendship has many different types. There is the platonic type of friendship, also known as the romantic type. This is the kind of friendship where you meet up every now and then and spend time with each other. This can be a good kind of friendship, because it allows you to discover who you really are, and it lets you meet the person you truly love. However, this friendship often fades, because it isn't based on anything deeper than a physical attraction. It's only after you spend time together that the true depths of your friendship begin to reveal themselves.

Then, there is the friendship that is based on something more than a physical feeling. These are the relationships in which you spend more time than just friendship doing things together. You might go hiking or biking, you might cook together, or you might have long conversations over coffee. The bonds that these types of relationships create are the most rewarding relationships in which true friendships occur.

Lastly, there are friendships that fall between individuals, but they are not necessarily friendships that end with romance. These can be platonic relationships, or they can be formed because of shared interests. For example, you may spend time shopping with a friend, or you might pursue a project together. These types of relationships often come with a lot of casual comfort, because they are not as invested in each other as true platonic friendships are.

True friendship is the type of relationship that allows you to be yourself, to share your thoughts, ideas, and your entire life with another person. It allows you to build strong connections with others, because you know that they will support each other when times are rough. If you are looking for a lasting relationship that will stand the test of time, then it is time to start looking to find your true friends.
