A few scattered pictures to share

Well it has been eight days since I last psoted anything, and thought it was about time for a few random pictures from the last week and a half from Oct 6-13th. So to start things off a view under the bridge in Sterling Alaska, the orange balls floating in the sky are marking where the power lines are, they use these so the pilots landing on the river or the river gravel bars will know there are power lines there and to be very careful when landing or taking off over the bridge.

I thought the sky with it's wanna-be roll clouds was pretty interesting, just some cumulus moving in from the inlet in little waves to back up against the mountains and then to rain.

Up next is from the 13th. Our first real frost and cold night was on that morning. You can see in the lower part of the pond that it is frozen, not real hard frozen but icy none the less. Winter is here and fall is pretty much done.

The mountains in the distant background are the Kenai/Chugach mountains.

Last up a panoramic view of the Aleutian/Alaska Mountain Range. It was a pretty nice day, even if it was a little bit cold, and the breeze was blowing, so hand held shots and jump back in the car where it was warm. There is just something about seeing frozen water on a pond, even if it is only half frozen that makes an otherwise cold day, feel even more cold.

All images were taken with my Nikon camera and I used my landscape lens for all three images. Various software tools were used to individualize the images for presentation.

I know not a very scattered set of pictures, but you have one looking sort of north, one looking semi east, and one looking to the west. All three have water as a tie in theme and pretty cool interesting sky conditions. Well that pretty much does it for this short photo picture show. Soon the pictures that are covered with snow.
