Beekeeper Beginner - A Few Thoughts - Part 7 - Foundation sole
Greetings, friends!
Today, I want to continue my story about my dream, to become a beekeeper, who, very rapidly, has turned into building a house.
Yesterday, I talked about how, to support the future home, a sand cushion was arranged and a frame was knocked down, or, formwork, for pouring a concrete base, which I call the sole.
The foundation of my house is like a multi-tiered beehive, you saw a diagram of such a hive in my publications
The first layer, this is sand, now, you will see the second layer of this design, tomorrow, we will move to the third layer.
Before getting to work, I had to travel a lot around the city in search of the best concrete manufacturers, read a lot of reviews about them.
Concrete quality, for me, was in the first place.
For arrangement of the sole, I needed concrete of the M150 brand.
Concrete is of different grades, depending on the proportions of sand, gravel and cement in it.
Another point.
It is very important to choose a filler, crushed stone, or, river pebbles.
Some advised pebbles, others advised rubble.
I chose the second option, crushed stone from limestone.
At that moment, there were still controversial moments. I was advised to prepare concrete, right on the site, but, it's a long time.
I ordered concrete mixers at the plant. I wanted to complete this stage in one day.
Time is a very important factor.
Between each stage of the construction of the foundation, there was a pause of 21 days, so that concrete could complete the chemical processes, and become a solid foundation for the next layer.
In Moldova, there is a custom when, in autumn, from the oak barrel, the first wine is poured into a decanter, the one who does it screams cheerfully - Woo-lu-lu-lu!
When the first portion of concrete escaped from the bowels of the mixer and fell onto a sand cushion, I wanted to sing this song!
In this photo you see the future sole for the foundation of the technical basement.
We did not make wooden formwork, but installed steel beacons to level the concrete layer.
At that moment, it seemed to me that everything was going to happen in a dream, I could not believe that this was the beginning of our house.
Gradually, concrete began to fill the formwork, builders quickly leveled the surface.
I liked what I saw.
I need to say about the measurement of this sole 150x800 millimeters.
It was installed around the entire perimeter of the future building, under each future wall.
Our plot of land has a slight slope. This allowed me to choose a stepped foundation for my home. This, allowed me, a little, to save finances.
When I saw the lined, concrete sole, I breathed a sigh of relief. Even positive emotions, this is stress.
I was very worried that for us, the quantity of concrete that I ordered at the factory was enough.
It's one thing when you count everything on paper, but, in reality, there may be corrections for the wind.
But, everything was counted perfectly, we had enough concrete and, there was nothing left, nothing more.
Concrete filled the entire space and was leveled.
The day had not yet begun to come to an end, and I already saw the outline of my house.
As it turned out, the most difficult thing is to wait for the next stage of construction.
To be continued!

For my publications, I do not use stock photographs, it is fundamentally important for me to use photographs that I have made with my own hands for publication and I can name them - authorial work.
