truth

the truth may come
hopefully
cascading sunlight overwhelming
the drenched meadow
vindication
that bearing the storm
was worth its burden
for this exclamation of misty color

or truth may come more blatantly
like a scalding bath
sloughing
off the skin of lies
burning to the bone
exploding marrow
in the sanguine spatter

of surprise
