Step by Step Lamp and Goat for Africa
Okay, it is good time for the next news. We have changed our goals a little. Now we are only raising money for primary school. If this succeeds, we will go further. However, for this moment we want to implement something like the Kaizen philosophy to this project by funding every goal step by step So now our main goal is to have another year of care.
But that's not all
Sunsets in Congo are beautiful but they are a problem for the people who live there. After sunset it is completely dark there. There is no electricity and the only light source is candles or oil lamps. However, hardly anyone can afford the luxury of lighting up the light. After dark, life stops and the only source of light is the furnace. life in Africa is hard, even children have to work hard. Help in the field, carry water and cook. The only free time they have after sunset, but it is too dark to learn, so they often do not use the full potential of education.
The solution to the problem is sun lamps. They do not need power, but provide sufficient light for reading and doing homework. However, the cost of such a lamp is around 20 USD, so people living on less than one dollar a day - simply cannot afford to buy it. This is where our role comes in . $20 is a really small amount and will allow Theresa to learn in peace. Such a lamp can light up to 12 hours. And it takes about 8 hours to charge, so her parents could take the solar module with them to work. I hope we will collect extra 20$ after fund her next year with your help.
But if you want help her family more...
Goats are very popular in Congo. They do not require high quality forage - they can eat practically anything. Provide milk that is a valuable part of the diet. Are useful for 10 years, they would certainly protect the family from latent hunger. The cost of buying such a goat is 60 dollars, too much for the family. However, I think that we will be able to finance this. In addition, this goat may be used for breeding. The newborns may be distributed to other inhabitants of the village in need or may be the beginning of a small breeding project.
Thanks for your support!
