Steampowered Dreams
I was driving home one day, when I spotted an old rail yard. There was something so nostalgic as I walked into the yard. It's almost as if I felt i went back in time. As I walked by one of the old trains, I could still smell the faint scent of coal from the main engine...
Coal powered trains were a special invention. These iron wrought hulks paved the way for freight and civilians alike. Today we revisit the age where locomotives took center stage.
You really can't help but admire them. So much time was spent building these machines.
And to think, over two hundred years ago these trains helped people travel thousands of miles to see their loved ones, to conduct business, and to trade goods amongst the country.
As I stepped into the conductors room, I saw the rusty old lever, the coal dusted guages, and valves all covered in traces of cinder.
I even walked by the coach where couples most likely enjoyed a nice plate of breakfast as they traveled through the grassy fields and mountains.
Imagine that, waiting at the Union Station and this pulls up.
And as you hop off you wave goodbye, the train leaves on its route, on time as always..
I hope you enjoyed the ride.
I love the way you processed these images! The first one and the second to last one are my absolute favorites. Keep it up! :)
Thanks for the kind words Raoul!
