10 Things I Value More Than Money
I never knew the things I value more than money could reach ten in listing, until I read an article on JamesAltucher.Com titled “10 Things I value More than Money” it was then I realized that all the other things that made me value money in the first place got more value than money.
James post inspired me to come up with my own listing different from what he put up.
Money is a means to create and exchange value and without fulfilling this purpose, money will have no value. Money is good and I do feel pretty much safer when I have enough money in the bank. I don’t want to ever go broke because being broke do always reduce confidence in myself and the worst part, in other people too who are broke like me.
I have been broke many times and during those times I have discovered a lot of things in my life that has more value than money.
1. Life: either you’re broke, poor or rich, none really matters without life. I value my life more than anything else and I have a feeling every other people do. There’s always hope when there’s life and even the dead still have hope, of heaven or hell. When you think you’ve lost all, check if you still have life and if yes, then you have really lost nothing worth of real value.
2. Family and Friends: before money and after money, there are some people in my life that present more value to me than anything. I don’t see any way this world is going to make any sense if all the loving and caring people in my life aren’t there.
Money will be useless without my loving family to spend it with. I value all my good friends to a point I fear losing them than losing money because good people are scarce these days. I didn’t choose my family when I was coming to the earth and the one God gave me has been so wonderful. What is money to exchange with my loving family?
3. Happiness, Peace and Satisfaction: I have a friend, whenever I tell him; "hey man, this is the new stuff I’m into" and the first thing he will ask me is; does it make you money?
And most times I will reply; "everything shouldn’t make money, some should create happiness, others should give peace and more should bring satisfaction." What is the use of money without happiness, peace and satisfaction? How much is peace being sold for at Lokoja central market?
4. Love: can you show me unconditional love and not just talk about it? That is; if I’m worse than this, can you still love me? This is the question I ask people that want to get In my life. Love is scarce and more scarce than a dollar In Nigeria.
You can search for money and find any amount sufficient to meet your current needs, but you can’t search and find enough love easily that can meet your motivation and aspiration. Love is the principal thing and the master of all. All other things might be Vice Principal :).
Love create and sustain communities and love change people to become better. When people show me exceptional love and care like my friend @bulleth and @elixbaba do, I’m motivated to go the extra mile..
5. Cryptocurrency and Blockchain: The reason why the cryptocurrency market has such huge market valuation heading towards 1 trillion dollar in its little period of existence is because it brings more value to our world. I might not make any sense to you by saying this, but you can take all my physical properties, including the change in the bank and give me a little percentage in coin supply of the first 100 crypto listed on coin market cap.
6. Belief: she said to me; Bania, it’s not easy to change your belief” I replied, that’s why it’s a belief. My belief has always given me things worth more than money. I believe and value my belief to a point they became more valuable than money. If you come and want to take away my money, you’re free to do so, but don’t try to want to change my belief, I have strict reasons why I chose to believe that way.
7. Writing: I want to write daily like James Altucher do, I don’t know how he manages to do that, but writing should be a habit. Writers are forced to be creative. For example, when I started writing this, I don’t know the ten things I was going to write.
I don’t even know what number one will be, but I believe to come up with something once I begin writing, I know creativity will be forced to come out and the rest will happen naturally. When I stop writing, I start doing all the wrong things in life. I promise myself to write more than the more money I make and I promise to write long the more life I change.
8. Good Health: what is the value of money, when spent in large amount to cure a sickness and still fail to rescue you from pain and death? My number one goal daily is to increase my health before increasing my money. I have been down many times like a sickler and those are the worst moment of my life.
I hate to be down and I hate money more when I’m down. Good health is the reason we have good heads filled with brilliant ideas. I value my health more and I work towards improving it daily.
9. Empowerment: Naturally in my side here, there are people that have made begging a profession. They go on the street daily to beg for a living. I don’t really like giving them money, especially those among them with a well build bodies and looking fitted. If I give you money, I’m honestly not helping you. I do say.
But I still give and I do that a lot. The last I did was for a friend who ask me to take him out for a beer drink. I knew his needs. He needs to resume school but has been delayed because of money, yet he’s still asking me to take him out to go get drunk.
So I said; I will give you this amount of money my guy because I don’t really have the time to sit down in a beer parlor and watch you finish 10 bottles of alcohol when I’m suppose to be at home writing or trading. I gave him the money and said do whatever you like with it. Wow, I just empowered someone.
Many people are down and keep coming back for help because such people don’t really need help, they need empowerment. Life is bigger than begging and making penny to survive today. If you can make little efforts to survive today, what about tomorrow and the next day? You need only more little effort. Get empowered
10. Gratitude: living is a privilege, I don’t have enough money to buy this privilege, so I’m grateful for getting it free. I’m grateful for all the good things in my life, I’m grateful for all the good people in my life and I’m grateful for the courage to put this together and hit the publish button.

You made some good points here so it's hard to choose the best but those I resonate with the most are gratitude, peace and belief. When we feel grateful, we don't have time to think of things we don't have. When we feel peace, we are in balance and therefore we attract things into our lives which are positive. And once we believe that things will get better and we believe in ourselves, we will more than likely attract and create things we want which eventually brings more money. Great list. Thanks for sharing it.
Excellent contribution @silviaturon

Another one, -Validation
We all want to be accepted regardless of the amount money we have. To be validated by either our friends or enemies, our families or strangers. It's a way of life and it's one of the pillar of living a life in society daily.
That was just my addition to your list already.
Keep up with the good work please.
Yeah man, you made a good point that cannot be denied.

hehe... i would never have thought the there was someone who values other things other than money.
I never thought that myself until I settled down to review my life
Yes!!
When I'm in a slump, like many people, I focus on the lack of what I don't have.
Maybe at that time it's money.
But I'll sit down and focus on all the great things that I do have.
My parents. I know many people who unfortunately have lost loved ones.
My health. Many people have diseases and maybe are unable to live life fully because of deteriating health.
One that I always make sure to be grateful for, is having my current problems.
The very same problems I might be having, I am even grateful for them because there are many people in this world who would probably love to have your so-called problems.
Exactly man, thanks for that wonderful contribution
Dido man.
