Compound or isolation?
Life is interesting we generally love the concept of building things in compounds: Compounding interest, compounding wealth and compounding gains! Why is it when it comes to the gym we focus on isolations?
I'm sure you have walked through the gym and just stared at the 'new guy' fitted out with the latest gym shark gear curling dumbbells thinking he is the next Arnold...
For anyone joining the gym for the first time focus on your compounds! What you apply in life is the same for what you should be doing in the gym! Separate your workouts into muscle groups such as the following:
Chest
Back
Shoulders
Legs
From these you will work your biceps and triceps and more! I just know that these are every newbies definition of main muscle groups. Did you know if you do shoulders you work your triceps also?
Also don't be that guy that does chest 4 times a week hoping to make all 'kiiindzzzz of gains'. The only gain might be time off work from the pain of a beat up muscle that might tear beyond repair.
Human contradictions and behavioural biases constantly amaze me everyday. So next time you think you might isolate just remember there is much better value in compounds. Thanks for reading guys. Train hard and remember "train insane or remain the same"

I always recommend to new people in the gym that compound exercises are the best place to start! However as they progress and build strength and size it is quite okay to add in some isolation exercises to the end of a workout.
Never do isolation exercises before compound exercises otherwise you are pre-fatiguing the muscle which could result in an injury during the far more intense compound exercises.
I hope this made sense. Great post mate keep sharing the message of health and exercise!
Completely agree. Thanks Harry. Will post more with time.
Great post.. very true train insane or remain the same.
Another good one "no pain no gain". Thanks for reading.
