It's not the first time I've been near this sculpture on the edge of the island of Tverdysh in the Monrepos Landscape Park. Every time it happens in the evening. Arriving in Vyborg, we first spend some time in the city itself. He's worth it.
But in the evening, the eastern part of the island (and the sculpture stands there) is immersed in deep shadow. High rocks and fir trees hide the sun and there is little light. Accordingly, the colors also become faded. The photos don't turn out the way I would like to see them.
This time we wanted to get to this place in the morning and catch the sunlight. We failed again in the morning, but we got there in the afternoon. The sun was sinking behind the tops of the fir trees, but some rays still made their way through them. It gave a little more light and a little more colors.
But still, it wasn't enough. Now my goal will be to get there in the morning. I hope that I will still have time this season.

Не первый раз я бываю рядом с этой скульптурой на краю острова Твердыш в пейзажном парке Монрепо. Каждый раз это случается под вечер. Приезжая в Выборг мы вначале проводим некоторое время в самом городе. Он стоит того.
Но вечером восточная часть острова (а скульптура стоит именно там) погружена в глубокую тень. Высокие скалы и ели скрывают солнце и света мало. Соответственно, краски тоже становятся блёклыми. Фотографии получаются не такими, какими хотелось бы их видеть.
На этот раз мы хотели попасть в это место с утра и застать солнечный свет. С утра у нас опять не получилось, но мы попали туда днём. Солнце уходило за верхушки елей, но некоторые лучи ещё пробивались сквозь них. Это давало чуть больше света и чуть больше цветов.
Но всё равно, этого было мало. Теперь моей целью будет попасть туда именно утром. Надеюсь, что я ещё успею в этом сезоне.

I remember this sculpture. It seems to be very small. Or not?
I decided to find new angles. Usually everyone shoots it close and full-length sculptures with a pedestal.
From it to the water line is only 15-20 meters, but the very edge of the shore is in trees and stones. I shot it from the very edge.
And so the height of the sculpture (without a pedestal) is about 2 meters

In fact, the stones are much smaller than the sculpture. But if you shoot them with a wide-angle lens and put them in the foreground, they will seem much larger.
