My friend's uncle was diagnosed with COVID positive
My office colleague who is also a good friend to me called me a few days back and told me that his uncle was diagnosed with Corona. It looks like he already had some heart problems and he had to visit the hospital when he had some disturbances and wanted to check if it was heart. When he went to the hospital he was made to sit there for over 2 hours waiting for the doctor. It was a private hospital. After his regular checkups were over, the hospital wanted to run COVID tests as well on him. After the tests, he was found positive.
My friend had to be with his uncle through all these processes as there was nobody to take care of him and they all lived as a joint family in the same apartment. After finding it positive for his uncle, my friend was in a big shock. His uncle was then taken to the isolation ward and was kept under observation for 3 days to even a week based on the condition. In most of the cases after 3 days of observation, the patients are sent to their respective houses if there is a proper isolation facility available in the house.
In the last 3 days, my friends have been gathering lots of information on this to be on the safer side. After his uncle was diagnosed positive, every member of his apartment was taken for a COVID test. Some theory says that the virus will surface on a person's body and will be recognized on test results only after 10 days. It was very strange for my friend to see his uncle getting diagnosed positive. In the last 2 months after the lockdown, his first attempt to go outside somewhere was only to this hospital to get his heart checked up. There is no other place where his uncle would have caught the virus.
When it takes over 2 days to get the test results and over a week for the virus to show up on people, it was strange to see his uncle diagnosed positive. My friend feels that it could have been a mistake from the testing side or maybe they wanted to do it intentionally to grab some attention as it was a private hospital. This may not be true or may be true but my friend is having this suspicion. But whichever be the case the people who are testing this should be more careful with the test results.
The reason is that the patients are locked down inside the same isolation ward. There is a high possibility that if a person goes inside without covering properly, they would easily get the virus on them. I heard from my friend that the patients are allowed to use their phones and they are given high-quality food at the right interval of time and the isolation ward is focusing more right now on increasing the immunity of the patients. Increasing immunity is the only way to help people recover from this deadly infection. His family and his uncle are looking forward to getting well soon though he doesn't see any symptoms straight away.
