THE ONLY WAY TO THRIVE ON STEEEMIT IS BY ENJOYING WHAT STEEMIANS DO: GIVE YOUR BEST BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO, NOT BECAUSE OF SOME MONETARY REWARD

IF YOU HOLD ON, STEEMIT WILL BRING THE BEST OUT OF YOU

Few years ago the use of social media was pioneered by platforms like yahoo, facebook, and Twitter. Millions joined with so much joy with the sole expectation of getting to know more people outside the sphere of their geographical confines. And ever since the emergence of social media a lot of folks have become veterans and are doing so great across these platforms. Posting thousands of articles through the years for the price of nothing and the only reward was the fact that, their articles or work gets to their target audience. It didn't really matter if someone didn't engage with their posts.
Take for example;

If a new facebook user gets 30 likes he feels great. 30 likes just that and that's all. But here on steemit 30 upvotes really don't matter to a noob without some huge ticking on the dollar count.

WHY IS STEEMIT SO DIFFERENT?

Steemit imposes a level of standard on all users across the blockchain(steemians), compared to other social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram where all you need to be is cool and you're good to go. But here on Steemit even the newest user knows its more than that.

Each post on steemit is as demanding as a research paper in school.

For example, there are no @cheeters , @steemcleaners or quality assurance bots like @originalworks on those social media sites. The newest member on this blockchain knows he has to give his very best on all posts and also original. And after giving his best, he expects at least a little appreciation. For example; even in schools quality term papers attract good grades.

I would use myself as an example, I am a student who also works partime. Having a tight schedule I only get to blog here during late hours of the day. Sometimes I spend hours preparing an article and after everything it doesn't pay at all. Sometimes folks whose upvote could make a difference would only stop by the post to comment and never upvote. I would reach out to steemians with higher reputation and I got no reply from 9 out of 10. The attitude of whales sometimes discouraging, but i must confess is a good one for the steem economy. And will help keep the SBD you are now craving for valuable. After a while a concluded, no ones coming to help. I just got to invest my energy in working hard and set my blog on fire make it so hot, that the audience I deserve will come watch me burn. That's what you wan do minnow.

THE BITTER TRUTH

We all are here for the money. Maybe that's not the number one motivation, but we could have chosen any other social media. Butwe chose here not for any other reason but the promises.

If our number one motivation is money, then we wont really go anywhere. Because the first couple of months is an intense struggle with little or no pay at all.
And here what you wan do. You wan blog not because someone said they pay. Do so because you love to based on passion not incentives. Choose a topic that interest you. A topic that is inseparable from your actual DREAMS. A topic that means the world to you. Stay on that topic and be consistent. In other words, keep your blog as close as possible to your dreams.
if the source of your passion is money, you wouldn't cope on steemit. So get to enjoy the experience with or without the pay.

  • As a blogger your satisfaction should come from your delivery of information not the reward on feedback. In other words, your satisfaction should come when an audience engages with your work not when they pay for it.

THE ONLY WAY IS TO WORK HARD, SBD IS NEVER FREE LOL

The blockchain is designed to favour users based on reputation(that number beside your username). And nothings wrong with that, but incase you do not Know, everyone started out just like you. If you scroll down the blog of the whales you admire so much today, you'd realize that they used to be just where you are.

It's true that the prospect of steemit makes a lot ot people across the world devote their time, energy and social media skills to the blockchain.
The only thing most minnows lack is patience. Most of these who are Facebook famous. It took years to build those timelines for the price of nothing. So I am wondering, why can't we employ the same level of patience on steemit? It only takes a few months. Here's what I think;
THE BLOCKCHAIN IS GOING TO TEST YOUR COMMITMENT TO IT. AND THE RATIONALE BEHIND THIS IS TO CURTAIL OPPORTUNISTS ON THE BLOCKCHAIN. SO THE BLOCKCHAIN TEST YOU TO SEE IF YOU'RE WORTHY OF THE REPUTATION YOU WEILD.

So do not be discouraged. Your hardwork will be rewarded. Just hold on it only takes a couple of months. Keep giving your best. See you at the top.

Yeah you said it all
Steemit is a gold to be treasured

I like the analogy @jeaniepearl . We have a lot of opportunists around here now. The struggle will test the genuine steemians

Good article, @bait002! It is true that you won't succeed on Steemit if you don't enjoy what you are writing about. It's not enough to just post a bunch of garbage for the sake of posting. It won't be rewarded. And it's true that you must persevere because it takes time and effort.

I’ve upvoted and resteemed this post as my daily post promotion for people whom I have previously curated.

You might want to do an edit. You have a few places with typing errors. Nothing major, but your articles usually look very clean, so I thought you'd like to know that I saw some in this one.
Cheers!
@mitneb

Don't forget to do the sub-header, too, @bait002.
