Living in a third-world country isn’t the most miserable experience one can have but being under the jurisdiction of a government that has no sense of direction is. I am a huge supporter of self-freedom and liberty and I’m also strongly of the opinion that there’s no excuse for settling for mediocrity. ***

We have power in our hands to create the kind of future we would like to feature in and this can be done regardless of how responsible or irresponsible the government has proven itself to be. However, the fact that a lot of things would have been a lot easier if the government plays its role at an optimal level is so glaring. The essence of leadership is direction; that’s why I like to refer to this portion of the holy writ of the Christian faith – where there is no vision, the people perish...

I have come to a conclusion regarding my fellow citizens from this part of Africa where national fame and notoriety is almost on an equal balance that what we lack is the ability to always have our pasts (heritage in mind) and a futuristic perspective. Always thinking about the now, always thinking about what we can make for ourselves now. Lacking the ability to work hard on a plan that’s big enough to outlive us, hence, we have to hand them down to the coming generation.

My heart melts from time to time thinking about these things. Our government is failing and so is our democracy. The question of ”who else do we have to look up to?” keeps ringing in my mind without an answer.

Let’s stop thinking about the “now”. It is important and healthy not abide on the negative fragments of our past as a nation, but it is equally important to have a clear sense of where we are coming from and why we left there in the first place. Life becomes more beautiful when we have a sense of what to live for. Martin Luther couldn’t have said it better when he said “a man who has nothing to live for isn’t fit to live”

PHASE 1:

At this stage, we teach some minnows at our offline classroom to help attain self-sustenance. These minnows will then work with us as a team, reproducing other minnows. Currently, we have just wrapped up with Phase 1. And Phase 2 which is more demanding kicked off already. We have already recorded a track which you’ll find @theminnowschool. We are also in the process of recording a next track but the negotiation is still ongoing.

PHASE 2:

This basically is the core of the vision is to raise steem-backed entrepreneurs of young people. The method through which we execute the absolute idea goes as follows;

• SKILL ACQUISITION PROJECTS: where various skills will be taught to foster the emergence of new entrepreneurs that thrive on voluntarism.

• THE MINNOW SCHOOL TALENT HUNT: we greatly hope to give minnows who are not really writers but have other gifts such as singing, painting, dancing, acting a platform to express themselves and get their creativity beyond their minds. Basically, we are giving these young people a voice and ultimately awaken the writer in them.

• THE MINNOW SCHOOL ART/MUSIC EXHIBITIONS: here talented young people will get to showcase their talents and the value they have to offer to the community. We will be sponsoring art projects and professional music careers will emerge with this.
