You Now Have Less Than 16 Days to Support Utopian.io on Indiegogo

If you are not passionate about open-source contributions or have concern for the development of the open-source community as a whole, this article is probably not meant for you. However, if you are a beneficiary of open-source contributions and that of Utopian.io in particular then you should take a break and read this article until the very last paragraph.

Utopian.io is an initiative started by an Italian by the name of Diego Pucci back in 2017. His passion for the open-source community gave him the drive to start an initiative that incentivizes open-source contributions. Since then, I can boldly say that a lot of projects are standing tall today because Utopian.io was there to help them during their early days. As a means of putting things down formally, Utopian.io has supported over 70,000 contributions to over 9,000 open-source repositories.

Utopian.io has supported experts in various fields of open-source innovations not excluding the non-technical ones that also contribute positively in term of providing adequate translation and transcription services for open-source developers. The platform has proven itself as friendly to all manner of positive innovations and creative ideas that have the propensity to drive the open-source community forward. With Utopian.io, most people have been able to see the open-source community as diverse and an all-inclusive one with no one left out.

However, over time, we have only seen more of technical (programmers and developers) people coming together to collaborate on Utopian.io and this is why the team has seen it as a point to open the innovation to a wider community that also benefits from open-source contributions; people who may not necessarily be developers, translators or graphic designers but regular people who probably want nothing more than just supporting projects with funds. So Utopian.io has come up with Utopian Colony. This I believe will bring the entire open-source community together; from developers to end users. All of those who will work hand-in-hand to make viable projects a success.

Utopian.io is driven by so much passion to this end; supporting innovative ideas and also providing opportunities for individuals to contribute to open-source projects whichever way they can. A lot of people see open-source projects to be nothing more than posting a bunch of codes to Github repositories, but Utopian.io is saying “Hey! It’s way more than that”. The ground is now open with Utopian Colony for as many as possible to be a part of something big and massive.

The goal to establish Utopian Colony is in my opinion, a noble one, and deserves every support they can get since it is for the greater good of the greater number. Utopian Colony will expose open-source contributors to better opportunities; making them achieve their most viable goals as they make it known to an active community of fellow contributors some of which are also investors.

Utopian Colony is still under development and the team is asking for some support so that the platform will launch in 2019 Q3 just as planned. In fact, they have currently going on, a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo and the campaign is going to be over in less than 16 days and now is the time for you to be a part of something bigger than self-benefit as far as open-source contributions are concerned. I must also stress that everyone supporting Utopian.io with Utopian Colony will have some form of incentives before and after the platform launches which is why I think open-source beneficiaries should partake in this opportunity.

Some Badges You Will Be Rewarded With If You Support Utopian Colony:

  • The Dreamer Bundle
  • The Visionary Bundle
  • The Project Early Access
  • The Project and profile spotlight
  • Project Spotlight - 30days
  • VIP PASS

You can visit the Indiegogo Campaign page to have a clear detail as to what these benefits are or simply visit my last post to have an idea of how you can benefit on Utopian Colony if you support the project as an early adopter (i.e before the official launching date). Don’t see this as an ICO (Initial Coin Offering); the campaign is just to get the team all the necessary resources to keep the development of Utopian Colony going.

One of the golden rules when it comes to open-source innovations is that a team or individuals, irrespective of the size, needs to collaborate with as many as possible in order to achieve their aim. This is because open-source projects, for the most part, are not profit-oriented and a team needs to minimize their cost of operation in any way they can; which is why collaboration is a major key.
