Hello!

I'm Baillie, a freelance web developer and revisiting member of steemit after years of pondering what to blog about...

Now, after 3 years experience delving into front-end web development, transitioning from a mind numbing career in finance I'm hoping to provide value and blog about the web development life. Ironically I was introduced to web development at one of my previous finance jobs and not looked back since. I started out by creating basic static websites with splashes of default neon colours and illegible text to now creating dynamic WordPress websites and exploring new open source code everyday, I'd say I've come a long way.

I spent most of my days including weekends scouring google and youtube learning about the fundamentals of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, hoping one day it'll all just stick and make sense. Admittedly, like anything it took time and a lot of it. I remember working part time in a retail store to subsidise my learning, cramming in JavaScript tutorials in my dinner breaks, those were the days. Anyhow I won't bore you with the details, all in all it was totally worth it, my brain has never felt so alive, my gratitude for everything is forever growing especially the internet and now I'm hoping to provide value to y'all with any web development stuff I create or come across next.
