Accountability : Uncomfortable but successfulsteemCreated with Sketch.

This is probably the worst I will feel in this process, if history is any guide, I should start feeling much better by tomorrow. I am sure I am in ketosis even though I haven't measured my ketone level in any way. I recognize the symptoms in myself and I'm satisfied that it's working. Besides, it's been five days total (four days of accountability posts) and with my diet it would be hard not to be in ketosis by now.

For the record, a small breakfast of Meat and Eggs in bacon fat at 2:pm or so, and a larger dinner of beef or pork with a mixed salad using my homemade full fat salad dressing. A teaspoon of coconut butter for a treat and to round up the fat profiles.

Tomorrow is another shopping, to get the things I forgot (typical) and maybe a steak if they have nice ones. Also, I suppose I should weigh myself in the morning.

Looks as though it has been working by finding a way to remain accountable. Your right, after a few days it does get worse then it will start the process of getting better.

Thanks. Woke up this morning feeling more confident and optimistic. I remember this feeling.... lol

You're doing great, hang in there, buddy! Yup, that sugar is the devil in disguise. Even though I've mostly avoided it for years, any time I have just a bit, the next day I find myself opening the fridge all day, looking for "something". It is so addictive.

That's exactly the feeling, looking for 'something'.

I remember when I stopped smoking, it was hard to get out of the house because I kept wandering around the house looking for something. Then I realized I was walking around the house patting my shirt pocket. I was looking for my cigarettes. Sneaky...

I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish. I googled ketosis and am still a bit confused. If you're trying to feel better, I'd say you've definitely made the right dietary choice. If it's diabetes based I suggest you check out Berberine...it's supposed to combat diabetes, high cholesterol and triglycerides. Anyway, I hope it works and you feel well.

Thanks, I'm feeling much better now. If you are interested, there is a lot of work on diabetes which has not hit the public consciousness quite yet. Here is a sample of what many people I have talked to over the years have been following. https://www.dietdoctor.com/diabetes#normalize

Thanks! My diet is much like the one described...lots of meat very little starch (except pasta occasionally) No pop or sugars. I'm 5'7" weigh 135 I don't know how I wound up with diabetes??? There's a great book called Sugar Blues by William Dufty...It changed my life! After reading it I became convinced that processed food (sugar in particular)is what causes cancer.

They spread the "obesity increases your risk of diabetes" lie so much that most believe that only fat people get it. The truth is that 45% of T2 diabetics are overweight. But that leaves 55% who are not, it's just as reasonable to say that not being overweight increases your risk of being diabetic.

I believe I had it for at least two decades before I got fat. But because I wasn't fat, doctors never checked me for it when I complained of exhaustion and lethargy. To me, obesity doesn't cause diabetes - but diabetes may cause obesity.

I remember reading Sugar Blues back in the late 70s. I had already stopped eating white sugar, but I continued to eat fruit and rice, which is just as bad and eventually led to my metabolism failing. My insulin sensitivity is so far form normal it's crazy.
