Beauty Outside the City: Kidalos, Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte, Philippines

Fresh air welcomed me the moment I got out of the city. The cool breeze from the sea relaxes me. I miss this feeling, the feeling outside the city. I can be able to breath a not so polluted air. I can see the fascinating scenery of the mountains and appreciate the work of our Almighty. It’s been quite a long time since the last time I got out of the city. And being in this outdoor activity is kinda refreshing.

Two hours of travel from Iligan City to Kapatagan Lanao del Norte and 30 minutes more of ride from Poblacion to Kidalos we have reach the main goal of our journey and that is climbing the mountains of Kidalos. Upon reaching the peak of the mountain, spectacular landscape of the nature welcomes me.

Trees of different kind planted freely in the mountain. Different sizes of mountains are displayed like it wanted to be acknowledged. Cows, birds, and different kinds of animals are enjoying their different roles in the ecosystem. This is what always amazed me. I can never get to see this always at the city. I can never have as silent as this place in the city. Everything here is refreshing. Just by hearing different sound of animals and feeling the air as passes at you will make you loosen up from all of your the burdens.

3PM and we will be going back to the city. I wish I could stay longer. I wish I could stay until night and see the stars shining proudly at the sky for I know I can’t see them at city. I hope this place will not change and stay as it is. Not like all the other mountain getting excavated and turned into main roads. I know I don’t have the right to judge people doing those thing for I know they are thinking about the other people too, what I hope, is them to also consider other species like animals. We are slowly destroying their habitat. But, so much of that, I am happy and blessed that I was able to visit such wondrous place. And I would be very glad if I could go back there.
