#2 Christmas Recipe: Sugar-Free Winter Compote With Seasonal Spices🎄💕❄️

in #food7 years ago

Today I'm bringing to you my second recipe for my new series devoted to Christmas. Delicious, warming up compote with fresh apples and pears, mix of dry fruits and spices. I'm dreaming about it right now, because I feel little sick today. My throat is swollen, I feel every bone in my body, and I feel pain in my back (in this case it's another pain, than a muscles pain). This is some like sign from my body, that there's something wrong. Maybe it's because my travel to Germany and climate change, because in this region here it's little warmer than in Poland. So this compote can be great cure for me, I guess! But that little sickness won't stop me from writing post with recipe for you! 😊

Honestly, that was first time when I made compote. What is the best in this compote? And that, it was sugar-free but it was still sweet thanks to fruits! My mom often makes it, especially in summer from fresh berries and apples. It's so delicious! I have no idea, how did I know, which ingredients I can use to create dish and in what amounts I can add them! It was huge surprise for me, because it was perfect! By the way, I always prepare recipes roughly lol! I have no clue, how i do it, but it always comes out tasty haha! 😆Compote is really easy to do, because you only need to cook all ingredients together with spices. Thanks to that, the whole compote will be very flavor. I also added fresh rosemary, which was great addition to the whole compote. Moreover, this drink you can store in jars for later through long time
So without further bla bla bla... 😁

For preparing you will need:

  • two litres of water
  • two apples
  • one and a halt pears
  • a handful of dry cranberries
  • a handful of dry apicots
  • one twig of fresh rosemary
  • three cinnamon stick (you can use in powder, but it will not the same)
  • around eight carnations

  • cut apples and pears in quarts or smaller parts
  • stick carnations into apples
  • divide rosemary for smaller parts
  • put all ingredients into big pot and boil it around 45 minutes
  • it's best, when it's still hot!

It was really tasty compote, perfect for Christmas Eve. In my family, we didn't drink it, but for sure even this year, it'll be different! Honestly, you can add into it every kind of dry fruit and it’s still going to be natural sweet! That is the magic of potions! For sure, I'll be doing it not only for Christmas! And you? What you think about it? Your feedback is so valuable for me so, just write below in comment what you think! Have a lovely day my friends! 💕💕💕

Suggestion: grate the skin from 1 lemon, squeeze it's juice and add both of them to the mix. 🍋

Compote always reminds me of my grandma and childhood spent in the countryside. ☺

Thank you for your tip, for sure next time I willl try it with lemon! :) Compote from countryside are the best in the world, especially from Grandma! :)

I would have never thought to add rosemary to this, but I bet it's delicious! Hope it helps you feel better. 😃

Unfortunately, I'm not able to do it now, it's a shame :( I'm not crazy about rosemary, so I was really suprised, that it's so good with it. It was so delicious! Thank you for your comment :)
