SteemIT is sending our data to Facebook and Google.
Yeah, this has been spotted a while ago, scripts are running on this front end from both big Evil G and it's little brother Fakefak
which are sending data constantly to these censorship loving arms of the man.
A week ago @steemchiller wrote a post about this and we have yet to hear any official explanation for these things, I am posting this in hopes that it will reach a developer or someone who can answer the question of Why it's necessary for these scripts to run on ALL the web pages and How is that in line with decentralization and transparency, they can see us, they can probe us, but we cannot see them, lest weigh their presence.

Google is evil
There are browser addons who can block those scripts. This is not the ideal solution as most of people do not use addons, but it is a patch.
Yes there are, and there's also the option of not using a platform that claims transparency and decentralization when one cannot see what Google or Facebook is doing with all the data that is transmitted. Well so much for steemit, there's busy and esteem though still.

data mining, everybody does it, "trends", views, location, later they can show the "anonymous stats" to investors, marketing at least that is the official version, still steemit is a small fry and I'm almost certain, they won't face the big fish, in fact in the spirit of cooperation, they will most likely sell out when the cash bets in the billions, if they don't have some deal already to exchange valuables.
Anyways I would also like to know what exactly is going and where, but at the end of the day, it's a blockchain so it's all transparent anyways, so anything we do is in the open, I've seen it a few months ago but facebook is new :D and here I was thinking there could still be a chance for facebook and twitter to become decent places of communication and collaboration, still there could be

hey If you've read one Terms of Service, you've read them all, by using this service we own everything you do here and we can change whatever, whenever we decide even the terms :D
It's mostly for protection, since once fuckup could cost you years, so it's good to have some measures in place and it's best to keep people flooded with information, happy and content but that is what is being done allover the world anyways so why bother :D, I remember going through the terms here and coming out horrified, but it wasn't enough I suppose, I have to read them again :)
well stats and social media coverage are enough to skew the lines, plus if everybody does it's ok, don't mind common sense, i would be nice to get a disclose and some return since i don't lie one way relationships, if I send something I want to know where it went and what it did, maybe a funny story but at least get a post card :D
Anyways it's their site and their service, it was noted a while ago, the blockchain is decentralized and immune to censure not steemit the sit that is owned by steem inc. basically any corporation is expected to everything possible to be marketable and compete, even changing everything, personal, look, brand, whatever, it's just a message to get more clients, that then get bought or sold something, here we are selling our time and effort to get steem tokens that we then trade among ourselves and finally some open markets, great. But that doesn't support steem inc because they have partners and investors probably. I don't see them powering down and paying out steem as salaries, even though they do earn their part curating and participating, still most of the team is hidden and we have ned as a star michael as PR and andrarchy and the team, still what do you expect, unless people change and stop being so wowed by technology, there won't be a reason to change the trend, we like having more information.

Thanks for your help ~ I'm with you, but please calm down and do not attack the creators of this wonderful platform ;) Since this is still a beta work in progress, I currently see it like a bug, which never got fixed, because it may take some time and the system still works without fixing it.
My point about "I don't like that an external company is able to read, what I enter into a password field on Steemit" is the argument that will get them to think about it. Since here is money involved and some people may have lots of it in their account, it may be relevant for all of us...
But I decided to wait a bit and try to contact them personally, if this will not be changed in the next weeks. NoScript is active and does a great work here ;)
No, fuck Ned, there is no mention of FACEBOOK anywhere in the privacy policy.
Their security and privacy policy amounts to we may or may not fuck you over anytime we wish.
I have had noscript on for months on steem, looking back there's a faint memory of me allowing steemit.com and steemitimages as google anal was already blocked, yet I had to reinstall a new system again and only recently did it come to my concern, because I don't remember when Facefak was activated as that is blocked by default as well but I had not signed into facefak or used any other website with their script to block it as I usually do. This time it sent alarm bells and it coincided with your post, god fucking damn sincronicity. So, fuck you NED!

Of course he would give some basic no duh endorsement, he worked for the cia after all, and he endorses no script as a countermeasure. Say that knowing what vault 7 holds, and imagine what snowden knew IF he was in deed a cia informant: would he make people feel secure by "countermeasure", not warn them of the countless tools the cia has, (because nsa). About the "smell" you talk, I have heard it before as for Assange but it is indisputable that both have hurt some factions of the deepstate in their war that we actually are witnessing around Trump and the different goals that are the improvement of the American population versus that of the continuation of the empire.
The NWO has every major country under control, through UE, but yet Ecuador doesn't comply, I think that is wishful thinking. Critically speaking, what's the reason why the only leaks that we hear about are from wikileaks, and assange is the mouthpiece of this organization. There's over a dozen organizations that help wistleblowers. For snowden it's also awfully convenient to release "technical" information about the NSA while he worked for the enormously more criminal CIA, who was led by non other than Bush SR for decades, but he has not had anything to say about that all while escaping capture in the western world.
Both these figures need the narrative that the Powers That Be play by some rules recognized by the public, building the illusion of legitimacy, but that's all it will ever be, a thin veneer hiding the a mountain of criminal activity under their own laws and rules, all easily discovered by anyone willing to look.
That same illusion is woven with the perception that power was ever in the hands of "the people" or it could be, real power never changes hands. The families that control the religious institutions,the IMF and World Bank, and many if not all empires who dovetail these families, have practiced incest and done just about everything to maintain their power. There's never been power in the hands of the people in our "Civilizations", outside tribal, and small cultures and some mountain and hill societies and brief moments of anarchy in the midst of power vacuums.
The factions and infighting is real for PTB, just as real as psychopathy is hereditary AND learned, yet I have no reason to think they have the interest of "the people" at heart regardless of their infighting, not to say that their infighting and competition isn't beneficial or could be to "the people". This competition has created a very powerful set of families and while they disrespect each other here and there, they probably have infinitely more respect for one another than they do for "the people" and I doubt there is such a "good guys" faction in an environment dominated by corrupting force of power. The improvement of American population is a mighty ambitious undertaking, yet every single time positions of power are concentrated in response to calls for responsibility over some greater good, maintaining power and inherently abusing power will emerge and become the dominating focus of those in power, monopolizing a person with certain duties is not the answer. Because competition constantly strives to capture that power, the established power needs to focus on maintaining and expanding their power, instead of expending valuable resources elsewhere like a "greater good". First it's easier to create the appearance of competence and simply deny any and all wrongdoings and gross incompetence that gets brought up but also in turn by having nestled around psychopathic power thirsting criminals, the ones in power more than likely didn't happen upon it by "legitimate" means, but if they did, they won't last long at a game where there's numerous sets of rules and they operate on a "legitimate" set that everyone has a loophole to, usually at the tip of a gun.
Revolution
A revolution is a fundamental change in political power or organizational structures that takes place in a relatively short period of time when the population rises up in revolt against the current authorities.
A short lived change which always ends up with a new power structure and millions of dead anarchists.
