Max Anstie signs for KTM

So I'm back home after a short break to visit family and with my return comes some good news from the MXGP series. After what seems like an eternity of speculation, Max Anstie has announced he has signed a deal with Standing Construct KTM for 2019. This will secure him for the entire FIM Motocross World Championship in the MXGP 450 class.

Anstie will join Ivo Monticelli and Glenn Coldenhoff and will ride every round of the championship. This is great news for the KTM team as Anstie is a podium contender and MXoN fans should remember the British Motocross of Nations in 2017 where he took the overall winning both his races.

Anstie has had a turbulent year though missing three rounds with a nasty head injury but even with that still managed to podium three times and finished tenth for the year. Only seven different riders landed on the MXGP podium this year so he is in an elite group for sure.

The 2019 season though will be the first time he has ridden a KTM at professional level in ten years so i expect he will be hitting the test tracks pretty hard in the time between now and the first gate drop. He is a hard worker though and i expect he is relishing the challenge.
