Jeremy Martin docked points
GEICO Honda's 250 SX rider Jeremy Martin got his first win of the season in the first 250SX East/West Showdown in Indianapolis this weekend. This was a popular win and well earned as Martin led every lap of the Main but unfortunately the celebrations were but short...
The ruling body, AMA, have docked Martin 7 points following the race for jumping on a red cross flag. This flag is waved when a rider is hurt and receiving medical attention on the track. As you can imagine this puts medics and riders in a very dangerous situation so needs to be enforced very strongly.

"I don't know what the outcome of it is right now, to be honest. But, from my perspective, I came out of the turn and did not see the medic flag waving. I saw the lights on the triple and was like, ‘Dude, I think those are red.' I rolled the face of it, looked and saw that the area was clear with no medics flags and doubled it. It was an honest mistake."
This means that Martin will go down in the record books as the winner but he will not recieve the maximum points for the race. These will instead be handed to the second place rider, Adam Cianciarulo. This is a blow though for Martin as he is currently sitting in fourth and just nineteen points off the series leader.
