A Piece Of String
Three pieces of string walk into a bar, two of them get a table and the other goes to get the drinks in.
'Three beers please,' he asks.
The barman looks at him.
'Hey, wait. Are you a piece of string?'
'Why yes, yes I am!' Exclaims the piece of string.
'Well I don't serve string so beat it.' grumped the barman.
The piece of string went back to the table and told his two friends what had happened.
One of the other pieces of string said he knew what to do and stood up. He tied himself in a knot then used a comb to fray his end.
He marched up to the bar, the barman came over.
'Can I have three beers please?' he asked.
The barman looked at him suspiciously,.
'Hang on, are you a piece of string?'
The piece of string straightened up and looked the barman in the eye.
'No,' he replied. 'I'm afraid not...'
I first heard this in school. It still cracks me up!
This one definitely got a good laugh from me. I was surprised I hadn't heard it before with my dad sitting at the King Of Dad Jokes level.
It is quite the old one, I remember it from school days and it was so good it stuck with me! It's even better in person when you can do the exaggerated fraying and actions lol
