Steemit.com Bounce rates what do they tell us

I typically use bounce rates as a measure of how interesting one of my websites was to a visitor. If a high percentage of people looked at my website for a few seconds without visiting other pages it would be an indication that something needs to change. Bounce rates are a way to gauge how much interest visitors have when they visit a website. The lower the bounce rate the more pages users visit on average when visiting a site.

Lets take a look at Facebook and see how users interact and the average bounce rate. With a 48% bounce rate and an average of 4 page views per visit Facebook is doing a decent job in regards to bounce rate. The interesting thing is that users spend around 11 minutes per day on the site.

Next lets look at wordpress.com which in my opinion is a little more similar to Steemit in regards to the blogging platform and the way it operates. With a 69% bounce rate and 2 page views per visitor wordpress could do more to improve its engagement. Users only spend about 2.5 minutes daily on the site.

Now lets look at how steemit pans out compared to these other sites with wordpress being the most similar in services provided. With a 55% bounce rate steemit is closer to the bounce rate Facebook has and is much better than wordpress. With 4 unique page views per visitor it gets twice as many as wordpress.com and the same amount as Facebook. With over 6 minutes on the site per user it is more than double wordpress and about 4 minutes less than Facebook.
