Starlight photography --- short Cactus starlight clip
This is a short animated GIF from a series of photos taken trying to create a nice time-lapse video. Unfortunately a couple cars drove by during the capture and made the cactus light up from the cars lights. Its an interesting effect but something I didn't want in the time-lapse video. This short clip includes about 40 photos taken with 25 second exposures 28 seconds apart.

That animated gif is awesome! I need to learn how to do those.

Have been trying to post a gif or two.....would you be so kind as to reply or write a post on how to do so. In bleujay's case it is from an iPad. The single photo will post but not the gif form........thank you.
What size is the GIF file size you are trying to upload? It may take a day or two for me respond as I am traveling.
edit......1.1MB.........LIVE photo in iPad camera roll......perhaps not a gif, after all.

I will have to get back to you regarding the size....not sure how to determine ......however it is no rush......it was the water fountain post that could have used it.....and an ocean side post in waiting.

I use Gimp to make many of the animated GIFS and it can be used on Mac, Windows and Linux and is open source. I will create a post on how to do it very soon and should it should be very similar for every OS using gimp.

Maybe you could crop out the cactus from the dark photos and paste it over the ones with the car lights?
Thank you, that is an interesting thought about the paste since the cactus is static and wouldn't be noticed. I appreciate the suggestion
Yeah, that's what I thought! You'll only have to cut it out once, which might be a bit of a hassle, but then you can easily paste it over multiple images :-)
