Hello friends here. Introducing our native snacks that is abundant in the village, the Putong Balanghoy. I saw this in the market together with other Kakanin, and I requested my mom to buy.

Cassava root crops are grated after peeled, excess liquid are extracted. Grated cassava (without the liquid) is mixed with fresh coconut milk, sugar and grated young buko flesh. Cooking is done through steaming.

My Lola used to cook this for us when we visit her on the village. She has a small farm for cassava where we help uprooting the steem where the root crops follow upon pulling them.

This is one thing I appreciate with the simple life in the village, where Lola never live with us in the city. We can eat for there is abundant food out of the crops around. In the city, we can't raise some crops because the lot we acquired is just enough for the house.

For me, a good living is a combination of both having experiences both in the province and a city. I really appreciate my mom and her siblings where they had given the chance to explore the city despite their innocence of being villagers.
