Emoticons

I have seen a few emoticons in peoples post on steemit.com, I have also studied some github markdown for emoticons and tried using them in some of my posts but i had no luck as i couldn't get them to work perfectly. My suggestion is that utopian.io should integrate some emoticons into the text field so that they will be easily accessible for authors' use. It could be added at the top right corner of the text field as in the image below:

such that when the icon is clicked it will open up an array of emoticons as in the image below:

Reactions

There are some things i have enjoyed on facebook.com that i will like to see on steemit.com, i believe utopian.io can make it happen. What i am talking about is reactions. Since it is a social media platform i see no reason why reactions can not be included. In addition to the upvote icon, a set of icons (reactions) should be made available in such a way that when the upvote button is pressed the reactions are revealed and the curator can select from the list of reactions. In this case i suggest that a percentage should be designated to each reactions (check the image below for a list of reactions from facebook.com), the thumbs up (100% upvote), heart (75%), laugh (50%), surprise(25%), sad(-50% downvote), angry(-100% downvote). Better still it could be a slider!. This could be made available to everyone or only to those with 5000sp and above.
