Waiting for Durians Falls

DURIAN (durian zibethinus murr) is one of Indonesian fruits so its name is also durian in English. Durian fruit only in certain seasons so that when the durian season arrives, the price can be very cheap, according to size. Typically, one durian costs Rp10,000 to Rp40,000 for a large size (about $ 1 USD to $ 4 USD per piece).
I and my friends have the experience of waiting for the durian to fall from the tree. In contrast to apples or oranges or grapes to be picked when harvested, most durians have to wait for the fall. Hence, in Indonesia is a saying that says "like getting a durian falls". This proverb is used for people who get a sudden profit, for example just got a lottery millions of dollars or get 10 BTC per day.
This time we waited for the durian to fall on a durian plantation in Buloh Kuta Makmur, Aceh Utara (Indonesia). The journey must be reached by walking about 3 kilo meters because there is no road that can be passed by car. We parked the car on the nearest road and the journey continues on foot. However, because it is full of shady trees, walking as far as 3 Km is not too tiring.

Durian that has fallen from the tree and you collect. Not every day the durian falls. So, sometimes we have to stay in the middle of the garden. But not under the durian tree because it is very dangerous.
The terrain that we have to go about 3 Km to reach the durian plantation. Cars can not cross terrain like this.
Durian tree is very high, on average above 15 meters with a circle of stems up to 1 meter, depending on the character and age of the tree. It is impossible to climb a tree to pick it. Usually, the mature durian will fall by itself.
After collecting under the tree, we hauled the durian to where the car was parked. Besides enjoying directly under the tree, durian can also be made with various types of menus such as durian package which is also famous in Indonesia.

Makan durian barangkali sudah biasa @jodipamungkas. Tapi menunggu durian jatuh memiliki rasa yang berbeda, seperti makan apel langsung dari pohonnya.

The taste of durian is very sweet with its contents yellowish-white as the color of soy milk. The aroma is very thick. If you go to Indonesia, you have to eat durian because there is no in Europe.
